The Laois football championships return this evening with another busy couple of days of action scheduled.
Neighbours Arles-Kilcruise and Crettyard do battle in the intermediate football quarter-final in the first game of the weekend on Thursday night while Timahoe and O’Dempsey’s meet in the other quarter-final on Friday.
The first of the senior double headers is on Saturday with Courtwood taking on Clonaslee and Emo meeting Rosenallis – for both of those games it is the first ever senior championship meeting.
There is two double headers on Sunday – The Heath and Ballyfin in the relegation semi-final is the opening game, followed by Stradbally and Killeshin, while on Sunday evening neighbours Ballylinan and Arles-Killeen meet in the other relegation game with St Joseph’s and Portlaoise playing in the final game.
All difficult games to call – and Steven and Alan bid to make predictions.
They also chat about the shambolic group stages of the Junior football championship and hope that things will pick up for the knockout stages.
