A section of the N80 in Laois is set to remain closed overnight, gardai have confirmed.
The road in question, the main road between Portlaoise and Mountmellick, was shut earlier today following an accident.
A truck carrying logs overturned around 4.30pm this afternoon.
The driver was taken to hospital but it is understood they are not seriously injured.
As the logs must be cleared away, the road remains closed and will do so overnight too.
Gardai confirmed the news on their Facebook page tonight.
They said: “Laois-Offaly Gardaí remain at the scene of a road traffic collision on the N80 Mountmellick to Portlaoise Road.
“The driver is stable. The road remains closed overnight.”
