Gardai have renewed an appeal for information following an attempted robbery at a Laois Post Office last week.
On Thursday, witnesses reported that a man, armed with a firearm, entered the Post Office in Mountmellick.
He made threats to staff and demanded cash in what was a terrifying ordeal.
However, the man subsequently fled the scene empty handed and thankfully nobody was injured.
No arrests have been made since and Gardai have renewed their appeal for help.
A spokesperson said: “Gardaí in Mountmellick are investigating an incident at the Post Office in Mountmellick on Thursday at approximately 10am.
“A male entered the post office armed with a what appeared to be firearm and demanded cash.
“We would ask that anybody that may have been in Mountmellick between 9am and 11am that has dashcam footage or saw anyone acting suspiciously in and around the post office to contact Gardai in Portlaoise on 0578674100.”
