A new food and craft market got up and running in Vicarstown on Sunday last as a number of local community groups came together to host what they plan will be a regular monthly event.
The Vicarstown Canal Artisan Foods and Crafts Market is hosted by Vicarstown Community Hall, Annanough GAA and Vicarstown school/church and was held in the car park area of the community hall beside the GAA grounds.
The area proved an ideal location, with plenty of space for the traders as well as plenty of parking available on site too.
There was a wide variety of produce on display – from home baking to fruit and veg, craft stalls, Michael Delaney’s crepe offerings, an ice cream van, Husky Rescue Ireland and Bernadette Weidling’s Enchanted Bookshelf.
The organisers are planning to make the market a monthly offering and are hoping it will go from strength to strength.
