Laois Libraries are bringing the library service outdoors this summer.
As part of the Summer Stars reading programme, Jennifer Farley’s book, “Scout’s Best Day Ever”, will be coming to playgrounds, parks and walks across the county for the summer holidays.
The book will be up on boards so families can walk around and read the book about Scout’s travels around Ireland from Dublin to Donegal.
The Story Stroll was launched on Friday June 18 in Mountmellick Playground at 12.30pm with pupils from Scoil Phadraig Naofa in attendance.
Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council, Catherine Fitzgerald and author Jennifer Farley were at the launch.
The Story stroll will be in the following locations on these dates:
Mountmellick playground June 19 to July 16
Mountrath Playground July 17 to July 30
Portarlington Playground July 31 to August 31
Bog walk Abbeyleix June 19 to July 9
Rathdowney Playground July 10 to July 23
Stradbally Playground July 24 to July 30

Laois County Library Service ‘Story Stroll’ is supported by Creative Laois as part of the Creative Ireland Programme (2017-2022) in partnership with Laois County Council
