In September 1999 the Shanahoe hurlers won the Laois junior hurling championship with a comprehensive win over Ballypickas in the county final.
It was a triumph they celebrated joyously at the time, the small club having been success starved for so long and without a major success since their 1951 intermediate win.
And in time-honoured fashion they had to mark the occasion with a Dinner Dance.
The following March, club members and supporters of all ages gathered to mark the success of the previous year.
It was a typically celebratory affair with the trophy on display at the top table, medals presented and acknowledgement of what was a fine success.
As always local photographer Alf Harvey was on hand to capture a selection of images.
Twenty one years have passed since they were taken and some of those featured have sadly passed on. Others may not be as fresh-faced now as they were then!
