Violent scenes on Graton Street
There were violent scenes on Grafton Street this afternoon as Gardai came under attack from anti-lockdown protestors.
Video footage shows what appears to be some sort of firework being set off in the direction of Gardai who had set up a cordon at the end of the street.
Hundreds of people gathered for a protest against Covid-19 restrictions but were stopped from gathering in St Stephen’s Green which the Office of Public Works had shut based on instructions from the gardai.
Gardai used batons to move protesters while several arrests have been made.
This video of fireworks being directed at frontline gardai is horrific. pic.twitter.com/PGaiLL5nCo
