Patrick (Pat) Kirwan
Dublin/Portarlington, Laois
Formerly of Station Road, Portarlington, County Laois. Late of Administration Division, Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Suddenly at Tallaght Hospital, Dublin. Son of the late Jack and Maureen Kirwan Station Road and dear brother of the late Eugene and Gerry. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Ursula (Weymes), his brothers Peter, Michael and John, his sisters Lucy, Roisin, Margaret and Josephine, aunt Carmel, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Due to the Covid 19 restrictions A Private Family Funeral will take place. Removal from Mahers Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Wednesday at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington. People are welcome to stand along the route to the Church, in the Churchyard and in the Cemetery with Strict Social Distancing being observed at all times.
The family would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Charlie Dempsey
38 New Oak Estate, Carlow Town, Carlow/Maganey, Laois
Charlie Dempsey of 38 New Oak Estate, Carlow and formerly of Killeen, Maganey, Co Laois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on February 20th, 2021, at his home.
Beloved husband of the late Bernedette (Ber), much loved father of Keith, Brian, Mark and Enda, adored grandfather of Aaron, Lorcan, Nancy, Jack and Ella, and cherished brother of Maura, Liam and the late Carmel.
He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousin, relatives and friends.
Due to government advice regarding public gatherings a private funeral will take place for family in The Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow, on Wednesday at 11am and will be followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

If neighbours wish to show their support to the family, they could stand outside their houses (while adhering to social distancing guidelines) as the funeral cortége leaves his residence on the way to the church at 10.30am approx.

Catherine Walsh (née Mc Grath)
The Old Rectory, Johnstown Glebe, Rathdowney, Laois
Died 19th February 2021. Peacefully in the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin. Pre-deceased by her son Seamus. Sadly missed by her husband Liam, children Kevin, Edward and Lena and their spouses, Berny, Constance and Tony, grandchildren Catherine, Lydia, Alasdair, Evlin, James, Elanor, Harry, Kate, Jane, Constance, John and Eddie, great-grandchild David, brother Fr. James, sisters Phyllis and Sr. Monica relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass on Monday 22nd February 2021 in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney, Co. Laois at 11.00 am afterwards in Killasmeestia Cemetery.
In accordance will current Government guidelines the numbers in the church is restricted to 10 people.

Brendan Thompson
Portlaoise Road, Portarlington, Laois/Monasterevin, Kildare
Brendan Thompson, Portlaoise Road, Portarlington, passed away peacefully at Oakdale Nursing Home, surrounded by his four loving sons. Predeceased by his wife Eileen and brother Cyril. Sadly, missed by his sons Brian, David, Paul and Kevin, daughters-in-law Grainne and Aisling, son-in-law Ben, grandchildren Brendan, Cora and Alex. Sadly, missed by his brothers Kieran and Kevin, sister Mary (Wheeler), sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Due to government advice regarding public gatherings, a private funeral Mass will take place for family (maximum 10 persons).
Funeral Mass for Brendan will be held in St. Michael’s Church, Portarlington on Sunday (February 21st) at 12.15pm, followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

Mayfield, Cork/Laois
Whitford (Mayfield, Cork & formerly of Co.Laois): On February 18th, 2021, suddenly but peacefully, at the Cork University Hospital. George dearly beloved husband of Mary (née Collins) much loved father of Ed, Avril, Olivia, David and Ian, dear brother of Richard, Joan, John, Brian, Cecil and muriel.
Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren Lauren, Saoirse, Aoibhinn, Alan, Sarah, Liam, Sophie, Hannah, Joachim, Emila, Eve and Eden, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Breen (nee Reddin) Roselawn, Portlaoise and late of Patrick St., Mountrath and Brittas, Mountmellick. Margaret Therese (Rita) Beloved wife of the late Andy. Dearly loved mother to Pascal and Fr Gerard Breen (Stradbally). Deeply regretted by her loving brother Michéal, sisters Vera, Rose and Maura, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Due to current government advice regarding public gatherings, a private family funeral will take place, for family only, in St Peter and Paul’s Church on Sunday at 12 noon. The Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam: https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/. Interment afterwards in St Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.
