A Laois singer is set to appear on a popular RTE One TV show this afternoon.
Mountmellick native Emer Dunne will star on the Today Show with Daithi O Se and Sinead Kennedy.
They feature a ‘live from your place’ segment and Emer has been approached to appear this week.
Emer said: “I’m delighted to receive the chance to chat with Daithi and Sinead on RTE about my new album and upcoming single release.
The first single, ‘Daisy’, from my new album ‘Hourglass’ is set for release on March 26.”
The track is written by Scottish songwriter, Karine Polwart, and the song struck a chord with Emer.
She immediately took it to her producer, the renowned Bill Shanley, who has worked with the likes of Mary Black, Gilbert O Sullivan and Paul Brady, and Emer says knew it would be one of the ten tracks to make its way onto her new album.
Emer could relate to the lyrics of this song, and with Bill Shanley at the helm she could see the opportunity for bringing a unique arrangement to it.
Emer also recently appeared on the Midweek Podcast with LaoisToday.
She explained to host Paul Downey how she is adapting to this new way of living throughout this pandemic.
