A child is in hospital with ‘serious injuries’ following an incident involving a quad bike yesterday.
Gardai say they were called to the Dooary area of Ballyroan at 11am where it is understood a young boy had become trapped under the vehicle.
Emergency services also attended and the child was subsequently airlifted to hospital.
Gardai have described his injuries as ‘serious’.
While they say they have launched an investigation into the incident and that this is ongoing.
They said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident in the Dooary area of Ballyroan, Laois, at 11am on Wednesday, February 10.
“A male youth was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“Investigations are ongoing at this time.”
