A Laois hotel is set to feature on a UK TV show this evening.
Ballyfin House will be the focus of the latest episode of World’s Most Expensive Hotel with Sally Lindsay and Nigel Havers.
The episode is on Channel 5 at 7.40pm tonight – it is available on Free to Air TV.
Sally and Nigel Havers get to sample life in a building restored to its heyday as a regency family home to the aristocracy.
Nigel masters the many skills expected of a Ballyfin butler, while Sally rolls up her sleeves with the housekeeping team.
However, the duo also get to live out their Downton Abbey dreams.
That is, until one of Nigel’s practical jokes threatens to ruin Sally’s enjoyment of the high life – and also their friendship.
A former boarding school, Ballyfin House has long been admired as the most lavish Regency mansion in Ireland.
After eight years of restoration, Ballyfin re-opened in May 2011 as a 5 star country house hotel.
