Bloom HQ in Mountrath is one of the most impressive developments in Laois in recent years as a huge community effort has transformed the Brigidine Convent into a modern working facility.
The Brigidine order handed over the building and land to the community a number of years and there has been tireless work going on to bring it to the level it’s at now.
Bloom HQ provides state of the art office and training spaces and will offer remote working and training opportunities for all.
On Sunday the Mountrath Community Forum held a Christmas Market outdoors on the site with all the proceeds raised going to the ongoing development of Bloom HQ.
Though the early morning weather was bad, thankfully for those involved it cleared up for the most part allowing those hosting stalls and those attending the chance to do so without getting drenched.
While Covid has played havoc with such events in recent times, there was still an upbeat atmosphere among traders and punters alike.
These Christmas Markets haven’t been as common place this year though The Town Hotel (formerly O’Loughlin’s) did host an indoor Christmas market on Saturday where the old Club 23 night club space was transformed into a typically festive experience.
