It’s been a difficult year for everyone and in a normal year there would be Christmas fairs and markets left, right at centre at this time.
Such events haven’t been as common place this year though The Town Hotel (formerly O’Loughlin’s) did host an indoor Christmas market on Saturday where the old Club 23 night club space was transformed into a typically festive experience.
Throughout Saturday there was a steady stream of customers through the doors.
A range of local businesses had stands on the day.

Today (Sunday) sees Bloom HQ in Mountrath host an outdoor Christmas Market organised by the Mountrath Community Forum.
It takes place from 12.30pm to 3.30pm in the old Brigidine Convent.
