A further 306 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and one new death have been announced by the health authorities this evening.
There was one new case announced in Laois meaning the 14-day incidence rate in the county is now 51.9 – up from 50.8 yesterday.
The current national average is 89.2 down from 92.3 yesterday.
The Laois 14-day rate was 57.9 this time last week and 111 a week earlier.
There are now 44 active cases in Laois, up from 43 yesterday. It was 111 two weeks ago.
Of the cases notified today;
- 156 are men / 148 are women
- 67% are under 45 years of age
- The median age is 35 years old
- 108 in Dublin, 30 in Limerick, 22 in Galway, 17 in Donegal, 15 in Wicklow, 14 in Cork and the remaining 100 cases are spread across 18 other counties.
As of 2pm today 244 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 31 are in ICU. 3 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

Office parties banned
Office Christmas parties will bebanned under proposed new rules for reopening restaurants and pubs – the Irish Independent is reporting.
A maximum of six people will be permitted to book a table in a restaurant or pubs that serves food on its premises when they are permitted to reopen from December 4.
But customers will be warned they cannot book multiple tables to facilitate large parties or gatherings over the Christmas period.
