NPHET urging cautious reopening
The National Public Health Emergency Team is urging the Government to take a cautious approach to the easing of Level 5 restrictions.
The group is particularly concerned about the planned reopening of parts of the hospitality sector.
According to reports, NPHET advice to Government is that restaurants and pubs should allow takeaway service only, throughout all of December.
But this is set to be rejected by Cabinet subcommittee which is meeting now to discuss NPHET’s recommendations.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin is due to address the nation with a concrete plan tomorrow.
