Laois Sawmills is based in Portlaoise with a staff of over 50 people. Operating a state of the Art Sawmill and Pellet plant, we are a high volume sawmill dealing with both Ireland and The UK.
We are currently seeking to hire a Production Manager at our base in Portlaoise.
Description
In your role as a Production Manager, managing upwards of 50 people, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving KPI’s set out by the General Manager.
The role will also require you to improve production efficiency, achieve key operational performance objectives while ensuring Quality and Health and Safety standards are not compromised.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this successful candidate must be naturally organised and driven.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficient management of people, product and process in line with company health & safety and quality policies
- Management of all labour costs including headcount and overtime.
- Conducting production meetings and making sure all stakeholders are correctly informed of relevant information.
- Lead, manage and develop production teams to create an open and strong environment which encourages a culture of continuous improvement.
- Hitting targets and delivering consistent results in the categories of operating costs and production volume.
Key requirements:
- 5 years Production/Operations Management experience
- Have a proven track record in driving change
- Experience in timber industry preferable
