Colaiste Iosagain secondary school in Portarlington finished the mid term on Friday by hosting ‘The Mask Factor’.
The idea was that students were encouraged to be creative, artistic and imaginative by making their own masks or upgrading and designing masks.
The response was phenomenal with some amazing creations.
There were over 60 entrants and each student got a chance to display their end product. This was then narrowed down to 15 individual finalists and 3 group entries.
Streamed to the whole school from the stage in the hall, teacher Willie Carroll and TY student Daire Ross gave Dermot O’Leary a good run for his money.
Each contestant modelled their mask and all classes tuned into it from their classrooms with goodies delivered by TYs as a good will gesture for their compliance and co-operation this term.
Mr Bennett and his management team asked a few questions about how they came up with their idea and creation.
The students then got to vote for their favourite entry. Prizes were sponsored by the school and the Parents Council.
All participants were the winners on this most enjoyable occasion in Lockdown days.
Thanks to teacher Ms Miriam Holland for sending these great pictures our way:
