Emergency Services are attending the scene of an accident in Laois this morning.
The accident happened around 10am this morning on the N77 on the Abbeyleix side of Laois.
Gardai, ambulances and a helicopter are at the scene.
While the road, which is just past Junction 17 on the M7 is closed off.
Gardai confirmed to LaoisToday that an accident had occurred but were not in a position to confirm if anybody had been injured or how many vehicles were involved.
AA Roadwatch provided an update on their website.
They said: “Gardai are still dealing with a crash on the N77 on the Abbeyleix side of Portlaoise after the M7.”
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
