The O’Moore’s Camogie club won the first county final of this most unusual year on Saturday when they claimed their third title in five years.
On this week’s Talking Sport Podcast, we are joined by Player of the Match Laura Marie Maher to discuss, her incredible success and her journey back to fitness after an incredible run of bad luck with injuries.
She also chats about what it was like to win a county final with no supporters present and how she’s now hoping to play her part in another O’Moore’s/Sarsfields camogie and ladies football double.
And we’re also joined by Richie Downey and Jack Fennell to talk about Towerhill Rovers winning the Combined Counties Cup just eight years after being set up.
They are the first Portlaoise club to win the competition in over 40 years. They chat about the early days of the club, the various grounds they’ve played, the brilliant experience of the cup final and why they’re always recruiting for new players.
As well as that we look back on all the weekend GAA action with the lineups now complete for all the hurling semi-finals in the various grades.
Plus, how can a scrum in rugby be compliant with social distancing and would you go on your holidays just to look at club championship matches in another county?
