Formerly of Rathbrennan, Portlaoise. Beloved sister of Fintan, Gerry and Joan (Sreenan). Deeply regretted by her loving family brothers-in-law, Pat and Jim, sisters-in-law Veronica and Martina, nieces, nephews, extended family relatives and friends.

Those wishing to leave condolences can do so on the link below or in the traditional manner. Requiem Mass on Monday in SS Peter & Paul’s Church, Portlaoise at 12:00 noon followed by burial in SS Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
Bridie (Bunty) Connell

Connell, Bridie (Bunty), The Rock of Dunamaise, Stradbally, September 9th 2020, peacefully, after a short illness. Deeply regretted by her loving family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Given the exceptional climate and to protect the welfare of everyone who knew her, a private funeral, with immediate family only, will take place, at 12 noon on Friday in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, and will be streamed on the webcam; http://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/web-cam/
Interment will take place afterwards in The Heath Cemetery. The family thank you for your cooperation, understanding and support during this sensitive time.

Peacefully at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin, husband of the late Claire, much loved father of David and Orla. Adored grandfather of Gemma, Millie, Ted and Fiadh. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers Peter and Paddy, sisters Mary and Eileen, daughter-in-law Joanna, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Ned will be removed to Holy Trinity Church, Durrow on Friday morning. In keeping with government guidelines regarding public gatherings a private Funeral Mass will take place at 11.00 O’c. This Mass can be viewed live on the this link:
Br. John Walsh
Miguel House, Castletown, Laois/Marino, Dublin
Br. John Walsh, Sept. 8. 2020, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Miguel House, Castletown, Co. Laois. Sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends, and by the Christian Brother’s Communities in Ireland and India.
Removal on Thursday morning (Sept.10th.) to the De La Salle Chapel, Castletown at 10.30 o.c, for Requiem Mass at 11 o’c. Burial immediately afterwards in the Christian Brother’s Cemetery, Marino, Dublin, arriving at 2 o.c approximately.
Due to Covid 19 Directive, social distancing will be in place at all times, in the Church and in the cemetery.
James Neale
Kilgorey, Crettyard, Carlow/Crettyard, Laois
James Neale of Kilgorey, Crettyard, Carlow, passed away peacefully, on 7th September, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, at Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Beloved husband of Mildred and much loved father of Thomas, Heather, Clive, Wesley, Ivan.
Predeceased by his brothers Leeson and William, sisters Lottie and Ida, sister-in-law Charlotte, daughter-in-law Kate and his very good friend James Fitzgerald.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren Mark, Mason, Theo, David and George, daughter-in-law Una, Wesley’s partner Pauline, sisters Emily and Hilda, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and his large circle of good neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his home (R93 NF33) on Wednesday for close family and friends. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday at 2.30p.m in The Church of Ireland Church, Mayo and will be followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard.
Michael (Gilpin) Conroy

Formerly of No18 St John’s Sq. Predeceased by his sons Eugene Tommy and Christopher. Beloved husband of Margaret and much loved father of Michael, Eddie, Andrew, Paul, Jimmy and Thresea. Deeply regretted by his loving family, daughters in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
A private family funeral funeral will take place. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon in SS Peter & Paul’s church. Interment afterwards in Ss Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
Fred Townsend
Mary Street, Durrow, Laois/Santry, Dublin
Peacefully, in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, following a short illness. Predeceased by his wife Anne. Deeply regretted by his son Fred, brother Albert and sister-in-law Mary, grandchildren Daniel and Joanne, nieces Trish and Antoinette their husbands Donal and David, nephews Fred and Albert their wives Liz and Teresa, grandnieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.
Arriving in Church of the Holy Trinity, Durrow, at 7pm on Sunday the 6th of September 2020. Requiem Mass on Monday, 7th September 2020, at 11am with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions Fred’s funeral will be for immediate family only. You are welcome to attend in the precinct of the funeral home, church and cemetery during the service and en-route.
