This Sunday, September 13, Teac Tom – a local suicide support group for people affected by suicide – needs your help.
All clubs in Laois big or small are urged to take part in the “Giving Light and Hope Virtual Walk 2020″.
One of the organisers, Brigid Dunne, explained: “Due to current restrictions we are going Virtual with our Giving Light & Hope Walk in Castletown this year.
“We are encouraging people to get out on Sunday to ‘Walk and Talk’ at a time that suits them with a small group of family/friends in Castletown or another preferred location.
“If they wish they can wear orange, which represents HOPE and post their pictures to our Facebook page using @givinglightandhope2020.”
This walk has been organised to raise Suicide and Mental Health Awareness and raise vital funds for Teac Tom.
Teac Tom provides free counselling and support to adults, children and groups who have been affected by suicide, or for those who may contemplate suicide.
Teac Tom currently provide a ‘safe place’ in Stradbally and Ormonde Road in Kilkenny.
This Sunday they are urging all clubs and groups to ask their players and members to get out dressed in orange representing HOPE and support this event.
To donate and send pictures on the day please see the Teac Tom Facebook page.
