Starting or going back to school is a momentous occasion in any young person’s life.
For those who are going through the system, this week has been their first time back in the school environment in more than five months.
In a ‘normal’ year, LaoisToday would have sent a photographer to numerous schools around the county to capture the occasion.
It’s anything but a normal year, however, so we instead asked parents to send their photos to us.
We initially put the shout out earlier in the week and received a flood of responses.
However, with some schools only opening their doors later in the week, the picture have kept coming and we have a new piece as a result.
It’s a big day for all concerned so we’re only more than happy to mark the occasion.
After trojan work from school principals and boards of management across the county, it is brilliant to see all of the kids back amongst their friends once more.
