Having undergone extensive building works over the past 12 months, this week sees the unveiling of the highly anticipated and newly revamped Junction 14 Mayfield, which now includes Subway, Zambrero, Chopped, Gino’s Gelato and Mayfield Fare.
The project, which started last summer was undertaken to allow for improved parking, expanded seating space/children’s play areas and a greatly enhanced choice of food brands.
The extension of the multi-award winning Junction 14 Mayfield comes after 9 successful years in business, and with motorway usage on the up, the Lidon Group wanted to stay abreast of changing customers’ demands and tastes.
“There certainly is a great appetite in the market for top quality and trusted food brands. We now have a great combination of food and beverage options which coupled with a spacious, comfortable seating area will offer customers a totally unique dining experience,” said Donal Fitzpatrick, director of the Lidon Group.
“We started off in 2011 with Texaco, Spar, Supermac’s, Insomnia Coffee and our renowned Mayfield Fare carvery and deli counter.
“Obviously there was always significant volume of commuter traffic using the facility on a regular basis, however, with the addition of Boston Donuts and Papa John’s Pizza last year, along with Subway, Zambrero, Gino’s Gelato and Chopped opening this week, we are seeing strong demand form the local area also.
“The response to the announcements has really taken us by surprise, to be honest, but we feel that people are delighted with the choice that’s available!” he continued.
Mr Fitzpatrick said that it is great to see the redevelopment finally being unveiled at Junction 14 Mayfield.
“Our big challenge over recent years was space, and coincidentally, in 2020, space has become premium following on from the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic.
“We are fortunate now that Junction 14 Mayfield has ample space to allow for social distancing throughout the entire site.”
“As well as being able to offer customers a very wide choice of their favourite food brands, we can guarantee that every precaution has been taken to ensure their safety, from distancing to hygiene standards,” he added.
Junction 14 will see its seating area, car park and full brand suite operating at full capacity from Thursday of this week, and the team look forward to welcoming customers from near and far to the new and improved Motorway Services site.
