There has been one positive change in the Covid-19 situation in Portlaoise Hospital.
The patient at Portlaoise Hospital who was diagnosed with Covid-19 more than a week ago, remains in ICU.
The patient has now spent eight consecutive days in Portlaoise Hospital’s ICU battling the virus.
That patient remains the only confirmed cases of the virus being treated in the hospital.
And the positive news comes in the form of the suspected cases which has reduced from two to one.
The remaining suspected case is, however, being treated in a Critical Care Unit.
These are the latest figures pertaining to the hospital as of 8pm last night.
The Covid-19 Daily Operations Update shows that there are 14 vacant general beds in Portlaoise but no available critical care beds.
It also shows that nationally there are now 10 people in hospital being treated for Coronavirus.
Three are being treated in Tallaght, two in the Mater while Beaumont, Drogheda, Sligo, Naas and Portlaoise have one each.
