The latest HSE figures show an improving Covid-19 situation at Portlaoise Hospital.
For the fifth consecutive day, the patient with Coronavirus remains in the hospital’s ICU.
However, there are now no suspected cases of the virus present in the hospital.
Over the last two days, there have been two people who have been treated as suspected cases in Portlaoise.
But both of those have presumably shown negative test results and as of 8pm last night, no patient, aside from the confirmed case, was displaying Coronavirus symptoms.
The Covid-19 Daily Operations Update shows that there are 19 vacant general beds in Portlaoise but no available critical care beds.
It also shows that nationally there are now 11 people in hospital being treated for Coronavirus.
Three each are in the Mater and Tallaght, two in Drogheda while Galway, Sligo and Portlaoise have one each.
