The patient who tested positive for Covid-19 in Portlaoise Hospital on Sunday remains in intensive care.
The latest figures from the HSE show that the patient is still in the critical care unit.
Prior to yesterday, the last confirmed Coronavirus infection at the hospital was on Wednesday June 10, according to HSE figures.
However, the Covid-19 Daily Operations Update shows that this new case was confirmed on Sunday July 19.
The update also shows that there are no further cases or suspected cases in Portlaoise.
In Laois, the last time we had a confirmed case of any description was on June 20.
The figure in the county has stood at 265 ever since but a change in the official figures is unlikely for a few days due to the time lag.
It is also possible that this patient is not actually from Laois and may just be being treated here.
Nationally, there are just 11 confirmed cases in hospitals with the Mater having the most with six.
Sligo, Cavan, Galway, Waterford and Portlaoise all have one each.
