There has been high praise for former firefighters who returned to help Laois County Fire and Rescue Services in their battle against Covid-19.
Across the county, pulled back on the uniform again in a bid to help the service maintain staffing levels during the pandemic.
Posting on Facebook, Laois County Fire and Rescue thanked them all and also mentioned three who are pictured Dermot Healion, Willie Horan and Tom Parsons.
They said: “As part our response to COVID-19, a number of former staff from around the county rejoined our fire stations to help maintain crewing levels.
“Some of these – including Dermot Healion and Willie Horan (pictured at Mountmellick tonight) and Tom Parsons (Portlaoise) – are finishing up their contracts this week.
“We’d like to thank them and the other firefighters across the county who came back to help out during a time of national crisis.
“It has been great working with you all again.”
