The twelfth weekly Rathdowney church online concert takes place today – and it is so popular that the man behind them has announced they will continue throughout the summer.
Parish Priest Fr Martin Delaney confirmed the news as it was revealed that Fr Bobby Fletcher and friends will perform this afternoon at 1pm.
Fr Delaney said: “Our weekly concert featuring local artists continues and hopefully will do right through the summer.
“The last four have been recorded and are available to watch again.
“Just go to the video section of our parish website www.rathdowneyparish.ie
“Last week’s concert with Nora Fogarty has been viewed over 1,000 times in less than a week.
Today, our concert will feature Fr Bobby Fletcher and friends.
“Fr. Bobby is from Killasmestia close to Rathdowney and works as a priest close to Cashel.”
As all masses in the country have had to go behind closed doors due to Covid-19, parishioners are well used to tuning in to mass on the webcam by now.
Under the current government recovery roadmap, churches will open during Phase 3 on June 29.
