Gardai have seized a large sum of cash, computer hardware, documents and other items following a number of searches of properties in Stradbally.
The Garda operation took place on Wednesday May 20 and saw the force execute a number of search warrants.
While no arrests were made, Gardai say that investigations are ‘ongoing’.
And while they did not confirm the amount of cash that was recovered, it is understood to be in the region of €100,000.
A spokesperson said: “Members of An Garda Síochána executed a number of search warrants at different properties in Stradbally, on Wednesday 20th May, 2020 in the morning.
“A large sum of cash was seized during these searches, along with documents, computer hardware and others items.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
Meanwhile, Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal accident in Athy, Kildare.
The accident, involving a car and a pedestrian, happened on Wednesday but the pedestrian sadly died from her injuries on Saturday.
