Portlaoise Charity Truck Show raised close to €30,000 for Laois Down Syndrome Association at it’s action packed event at Portlaoise Rugby Club grounds in early May 2009.
150 trucks were present at the event with a major emphasis on providing an enjoyable day out for all the family.
Road safety was high on the agenda, with the custom made road show shuttle vehicle from the Road Safety Authority (RSA) present.
One of the main highlights of the show was the 2009 Republic Of Ireland Strongest Man Competition.
Strongman athletes from the 26 counties battled it out to receive the King Fionn trophy.
Other attractions included the modified car demonstration and the model truck competition.
Alf Harvey was there on the day and he took some great pictures.
