769 people have now died from Coronavirus in Ireland – an increase of 44 from yesterday.
It is important to note that not all of these people passed away today and that this is the number that were reported to the Department of Health today.
These people will have passed away in recent days and not just today.
While there has been a total of 631 new cases of Coronavirus have been diagnosed in Ireland today.
This is an increase on the cases from yesterday and takes the overall total to 16,671.
Northern Ireland, the UK and globally
The death toll from Coronavirus in Northern Ireland hospitals has risen to 250, up 34 on yesterday.
Officials say the increase is result of 8 deaths yesterday, with the remainder involving deaths in previous days that have now been added to the official record.
The UK’s Coronavirus hospital deaths increased by 763 in the past 24 hours to bring the total to 18,100.
Neither the UK or Northern Ireland’s figures includes those who die from the virus outside a hospital setting.
The death toll from the coronavirus in Europe has passed 110,000, according to figures compiled by AFP from official sources. With 110,192 people dead from 1,246,840 cases registered, Europe is the hardest hit continent by the pandemic.
Italy has recorded 25,085 deaths, Spain 21,717 and France 20,796.
There are now more than 2,593,000 cases globally with at least one in almost every country on the planet. Almost 182,000 people have died. While 710,000 have recovered.
