The number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Laois from the latest Department of Health figures is 25.
These figures come from April 4 and are the latest available – an increase of three of the previous day.
This is relatively low when compared with our Midlands neighbours who all, bar one, have a significantly higher number.
Kildare has the highest with 175 with Tipperary (125), Westmeath (107) and Offaly (66) coming next.
While Carlow has the lowest number of any of our neighbours with 12 confirmed cases.
The vast majority of the cases, 2,692, are in Dublin with Cork next on 362.
This comes on a day that Ireland’s confirmed cases went up by 370 to go to 5,364 overall.
While now 174 people have died from the disease – an increase of 16 from yesterday.
11 of the deaths are located in the east, 4 in the north west, 1 in the west of the country.
The patients included 6 females and 10 males while four patients were reported as having underlying health conditions.
