Oakdale Nursing Home in Portarlington, who have 58 residents and 80 staff, are planning on hiring additional personnel in the coming weeks if some of their existing staff are effected by Coronavirus.
“We are planning IN THE EVENT of some our staff being out sick in the coming weeks,” said Valerie Moore, proprietor of Oakdale Nursing Home.
“Firstly; we have implemented severe visiting restrictions for the past 10 days and thankfully we don’t have any suspected cases of COVID 19 in Oakdale at present.
“We have strict infection control measures in place throughout the nursing home.
“The people we are targeting for a ‘stand by list’ are health professionals, perhaps recently retired nurses or health care workers.
“We are also looking for housekeeping/cleaning/catering staff who may be laid off temporarily from the hospitality sector.”
“We would like to thank our residents, their families and our wonderful staff for their understanding at this difficult time for all.”
If you wish to apply, evidence of current Garda Clearance is required.
