We’ve once again dug deep into Alf Harvey’s archives to unearth some absolute classic pictures of Durrows St Patrick’s Day parade in 2010.
Great imagination and colour was to the fore in Durrow for the parade 2010.
There was an international flair to the parade, which featured on the RTÉ News parade round up, with appearances from controversial French soccer player Thierry Henry, golfer Tiger Woods and former President of America, Barack Obama.
An Open Air Market began on the Green at 11am and it was like a summer’s day.
The parade began at 2pm from Erkindale Drive led by two pipers and St Patrick himself.
The Harps GAA in their red and yellow jerseys carried two giant hurleys along the route.
They were followed by the local Scór group, who added a lot of colour to the proceedings.
The old woman who lived in a shoe joined the Happy Day’s Creche for the parade.
Following the parade there was kid’s disco with special guests, The Spice Girls, Bouncing Castles, Face Painting and Tattoo.
