Trilogy Triathlon Club is gearing up for its annual triathlon, TriLaois on Saturday, April 4 in Portlaoise Leisure Centre.
As part of the preparations the club is holding a launch night tonight in Joe Mallon Motors from 7:30-8:30pm.
On the launch night the club invites men and women from county Laois that are interested in doing their first triathlon to come along and sign up for their beginners programme “People in Sport” known locally as PinS.
PinS is an 8-week introductory course to triathlon, designed to help prepare for TriLaois.
It includes 24 coached sessions, eight in swimming, eight in running and seven in cycling.
If you know anyone interested, please tell them to come along tonight in Joe Mallon Motors, Portlaoise.
The cost of the training programme is €60 and places are limited.
Places will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Programme leader, Laura Kavangh said:”The PinS programme is for anyone. Whether you are from a sporting background or not.
There will be coached running on a Monday night, beginners swimming on a Tuesday night, intermediate swimmers on a Wednesday night and a group cycle on Saturday morning.”
The programme has been very popular in the past few years and this year it is expected to sell out again, so make sure to come down early for registration on Thursday night.
Trilogy are delighted to be invited to hold their launch night in Joe Mallon Motors this year.
Race director, Vincent Dowling said: “Joe Mallon is on board as our main sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.”
This year is our 11th year to hold TriLaois in Portlaoise. It’s a great local race that is well supported by local businesses and we invite anyone who is wondering what triathlon is all about to come down to Joe Mallon’s this Thursday night and see what it’s all about.”
