Debs season is always popular – and Colaiste Iosagain’s one in September proved to be the most read of them all.
Colaiste Iosagain in Portarlington are always the last school in Laois to hold their debs and they stuck once again with their late September date this year.
Students from the mixed school right on the Laois-Offaly bordered gathered in town’s Top Square on Thursday evening and the atmosphere and style was of the highest order, as you could only expect for such an occasion.
On a big weekend of county final football action, there was plenty of GAA chat too.
A number of the Colaiste Iosagain students had county finals and semi finals to look forward to on Saturday and Sunday – with the O’Dempsey’s contingent and the Portarlington crew with their respective junior final and senior semi final to prepare for.
It didn’t stop them dressing up and going to the debs of course but the plan was to be gone by 10pm and home safely in bed to prepare for their big matches.
Ribena also seemed to be the drink of choice for those young players – and not anything stronger – and players from the two clubs also happily organised themselves for our photographer could get quick snap of them.
Julie Anne Miller was present to get a massive selection of images.
