Portlaoise College hosted its annual Christmas fair in the school Foyer recently.
Visitors were greeted at the door by the students who had everything on offer with various stalls selling everything from decorations to baked Christmas treats.
The 5th Year LVCP organised the Market as part of their enterprise project.
This helped the Students develop skills such as budgeting, marketing and negotiation.
Students in junior and senior infant classes from Scoil Bhride and Timahoe NS schools were invited to visit the Santa’s Grotto in a very fun experience for the kids.
Children got the opportunity to meet Santa, receive a treat, had photos taken with Santa and got their faces painted.
Lastly there held a Christmas Jumper day when all students in the school wore in their favourite Christmas Jumpers, this was a fundraiser for the Portlaoise College Gambia trip in February, which sees several students visit Gambia and be able to go help the people out there by working in the community, schools and to try make a difference in the lives of the people.
