People in Laois are being urged to donate blood this week.
Clinics are running in the Kileshin Hotel in Portlaoise this evening (Wednesday) from 4.30pm and 8pm.
You can check your eligibility at giveblood.ie.
With 3,000 donations needed every week, Finbar Gethins from the Irish Blood Transfusion Service says they’re anxious to maintain a regular supply over the holiday period.
You can give donations of whole blood every 8 weeks.
Only three percent of the eligible Irish population are blood donors.
This is providing for 4 million people.
