We are almost exactly a month out from Christmas Day and the festive spirit will crank up a few notches tomorrow as Portlaoise officially opens its Christmas Market for 2019.
The action gets underway at 11am on Sunday as the markets open while Santa Clause himself will arrive at 2pm.
Local singer Stacey Dunne will perform Christmas Carols and songs in the Market Square while the local Children’s Choir will also perform.
The markets will close at 6pm but before all of that at 4.30pm – Santa himself will officially turn on the Christmas lights.
For €5, you will get a visit to Santa, a go at the pet farm and some face painting.
Downtown Portlaoise Retailers and Laois County Council have teamed up to bring this year’s Christmas Market to life.
Main Street in Portlaoise will be full of up to 60 stalls selling everything from ornaments to local produce and much more.
