A part of the N80 between Portlaoise and Stradbally is closed this evening following a serious accident.
Emergency services are on the scene of the incident and the road is closed on the N80 just before the Sawmills as you go from Stradbally to Portlaoise.
An eyewitness told LaoisToday that several garda cars and multiple emergency service personnel are on the scene.
They said: “It looks like a van and a truck have collided. Gardai and emergency services have the road all blocked.
“It is completely impassable at the moment.”
AA Roadwatch say: “Emergency services are dealing with a collision involving overturned vehicles on the N80 on the Stradbally side of Portlaoise.
“Use an alternative route.”
It is unclear at this stage if anybody has been hurt.
