It’s that time of year again.
November was always a bit of a nothing month – it has the cold of the winter but not the excitement of Christmas and December.
The advent of Movember over the past decade – where men of all ages have used the month to grow some outrageous moustaches – have added a bit of humour and so it is again this year.
The Movember movement raises funds and awarenes of men’s health – particularly in three main causes: prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide prevention.
And this year the team in Joe Mallon Motors in Portlaoise – and their Naas branch – have come together to Movember collectively.
The male staff have agreed to fundraise for Movember and grow various styles of moustaches.
Among the volunteers are the main man himself Anthony Mallon as well as their well-known salesmen in their Portlaoise showroom – Stephen Butler, Peter Breslin and Criostóir Ó Raghallaigh.
They’ve even branded a couple of cars – with a number of Renault Clios having been wrapped very tastefully by their very skilled graphic designer Michael O’Connell, who himself is also taking part. If the lads can be even half as stylish as the Clios they won’t be doing too bad.
For what it’s worth they’ve roped in myself, although I’m not looking forward to how my own ‘Mo’ will turn out. We might ask Michael O’Connell to add a ‘Mo’ to the LaoisToday car – our branded Renault Megane courtesy of Joe Mallon Motors – if things are looking bad towards the end of the month.
Already the team in Joe Mallon Motors have raised over €2,000 less than a day into the month. That’s some going already.
And we’re delighted to play our. Like the rest of the Joe Mallon team, we’re clean shaven and ready to go.
We’ll keep you updated throughout the month – and will be having plenty of fun over on our Instagram and Snapchat.
