This weekend sees the exploration of two very important topics with Duncan Stewart.
The discussions will take place in St Philomena’s Hall, Brigidine Convent, Mountrath a will cover home topics such as Home Energy – Heat and Power and Protecting Wildlife in Laois.
This Friday, November 1 will be the ‘Home Engery – Heat and Power’ discussion from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Among the things on the agenda on Friday are:
- Attic insulation
- External wall insulation
- Cavity wall insulation
- Dry lining
- Solar panel
- Deep retrofit
- Renewables
- Heat pump and wood energy
On Saturday, November 2 ‘Protecting Wildlife in Laois’ will take place from 2-6pm.
The topics include:
- Biodiversity
- Growing our own food
- Bees and pollination
- The importance of the food chain
- Impact of Mink and other invasive species
- Bird life, squirrels and deer will all be explored
These follow previous talks by Stewart regarding sustainable solutions, and sustainable farming.
