UPDATED: Appeal launched to locate man who went missing at Electric Picnic

An appeal has been launched to locate a man who went missing two days after the Electric Picnic.

Cameron McClements is missing from the Stradbally area in Laois, after working at the Electric Picnic music festival over the weekend.

There are reports since we posted the appeal this morning that Cameron has been spotted in the Ballypickas area of Laois on Tuesday evening and then again on the old Kildare Road to Monasterevin around 4pm on Wednesday.

He was working to clear up the site following the conclusion of the festival when he was last seen.

He was last seen at around 6.30pm on Tuesday September 3 at the festival with his bicycle.

Cameron who is from Hillsborough in Lisburn in Antrim, has a Northern Irish accent, and is around 5ft 7in in height, with a slim build with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a mainly red coloured jacket, red beanie hat, and brown hiking boots.

Cameron’s friend Dillon Lewis has launched a desperate plea for anyone with information on Cameron’s whereabouts to come forward.

He said: “Cameron is one of my best mates and he was working at Electric Picnic doing the set up and take down of everything.

“He left on his bike for a party on the last day and hasn’t been seen since. We’re all really worried and just want him back safe. Thanks for the help let’s get him home.”

If anyone has any information regarding Cameron’s whereabouts, please contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057-8674100 and quote the reference number 16786865.
