An adopted son of Laois is dusting himself off and putting his best foot forward for his Rose of Tralee Escort duties.
Swapping the hills of Donegal for the Kerry coast, Ciaran Cannon set off to sample the ‘electric’ energy of this year’s Rose of Tralee.
Letterkenny native Ciaran is a teacher working in Dublin, and living in Portlaoise.
GAA-mad Ciaran helps coaching teams in his school, and at home in Donegal whenever he gets the chance.
At the weekends, he togs out for his local team Letterkenny Gaels, and has even represented the county at senior level too.
The first class teacher spoke to the Rose of Tralee about the atmosphere down in Tralee, watching the festival and time-keeping!
“I consider myself an energetic, hardworking man who is always up for a laugh. However, my time keeping is horrendous – just ask my girlfriend or mates about that one!
“In Tralee, I am looking forward to the amazing atmosphere that will not doubt be electric. I am also eager to be part of the festival as I watch the festival on the tele every year.
“And finally working with the my fellow escorts in our duty to assisting the Roses this year at the festival,” said Ciaran.
