Imagine having your debs last night and getting your Leaving Cert results today?!
That was the case for the students of Scoil Chriost Ri in Portlaoise and Mountmellick CS .
And it was partly the reason for a slow arrival of students to Scoil Chriost Ri this morning where over 150 students were due to collect their results.
Principal Helen O’Donnell was on hand to greet the students as they arrived as were many of the teachers.
She was delighted with another fantastic selection of results as one school era ends and the countdown continues to the new term in September.
Across the way in Portlaoise CBS where approximately 120 students were getting their results, there was a good buzz.
Among those we met were high achievers Liam Kinsella who is off to UL to do Engineering and in line for a basketball scholarship, Cian O’Toole from Ratheniska who is hoping to go to Trinity to do Astro Physics, Damien McCaul from Vicarstown who is on course to do PE and Biology teaching on DCU and Sean O’Neill from The Rock who is also hoping to go to UL to do Engineering.
For the students, it’s now a case of enjoying the celebrations and looking to the next phase of their young lives.
