Wednesday marked the day that the National Learning Network (NLN) Portlaoise hoisted their fifth Green Flag.
Over 50 people attended the launch, which celebrated the magnificent achievement of obtaining a fifth Green Flag – for Biodiversity.
Indeed at the back of the NLN was a greenhouse and plants, which members of the Syrian community in Portlaoise have been working on.
After the flag was raised high into the sky, there was a barbecue and live entertainment for all students, teachers and guests.
NLN Portlaoise provide a range of free courses to people who have had an accident, illness, injury or have a disability and extra support needs.
There courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.
