Now in it’s 21st year, the Erkina River Festival is back with more events than ever.
Taking place on Saturday, June 22, there is an array of events to keep everyone entertained over the course of the day.
Starting at Woodenbridge at 1pm, a 10k cycle as part of Bikeweek kicks off the events for the day.
A Long Puck competition, where many current county and club players have expressed an interest in being part of, will take place between 3pm and 5pm.
A heritage walk takes place 6pm with a barbecue set in the beautiful surrounds.
The events carry into the night with ‘Woodenbridge’s Got Talent’ at 9pm and music by Johnny Keegan later that night.
Other exciting events taking place on the day include; raft building, canoe polo, tight rope walking and an aqua slide.
For those with sheep and sheep dogs, there are sheep dog trials and sheep shearing contests along with a field dog trail.
An IFI demonstration will feature on the day as well as a Laois Hunt Show.
