A Portlaoise haridresser has achieved a huge feat in taking home a second place prize after only four months experience.
Ellen Dunphy, who is a trainee hairdresser in Society Salon in Portarlington, came second in a Irish hairdressing federation competition in Croke Park last weekend.
Ellen picked up the second place trophy in the junior creative blow-dry category and Society Salon manager Jamie Lee Kavanagh was full of praise for the young trainee.
“Ellen only started working with us in December 2018 and only started her hairdressing training in January.
“It’s a massive achievement with only four months experience. She is great and we all are so proud of her and her massive achievement,” said Jamie Lee.
This isn’t the first time a trainee in the Portarlington salon has scooped a national award.
In November 2018 Hayley Davies placed third in the Fantastic Hairdressing competition.
