Moment in Time: Cumann na mBunscol hurling and camogie finals 2009

Brought to you in association with Roll n Bowl Portlaoise

We’re still in Cumann na mBunscol fever here at LaoisToday HQ and thought what would be better than to have this week’s Moment in Time look back at the annual hurling and camogie finals from 10 years ago.

Many things have changed over the past decade, but the enjoyment and excitement the Cumann na mBunscol finals bring is still the same, as seen on many of the happy faces below.

Following three pulsating days in O’Moore Park this week, the Cumann na mBunscol hurling and camogie finals have come to an end for another year.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday saw teams from all over the county compete for silverware in Laois.

192 goals were scored over the course of the three days by 44 teams in 22 finals.

You can see full reports, results and photos on an excellent roundup piece on this year’s Cumann na mBunscol finals done by Alan Hartnett, who was certainly kept on his toes the past few days!

In the photos below, all taken by Cumann na mBunscol stalwart Alf Harvey, there is many a familiar face and those who have gone on from Cumann na mBunscol hurling to the Laois senior hurling panel.
