In Pictures: The red carpet rolled out for Finding Steve-O at Mountmellick Boys school

Parents, teachers and media received a red carpet welcome for the premiere of ‘Finding Steve-O’ at Scoil Phadraig Naofa, Mountmellick last Thursday May 23.

‘Finding Steve-O’ was unveiled as an amazing graphic design video made by fifth class students of the boys school, along with artist Kate Heffernan and teachers Ms Caroline Greene and Ms Miriam Geaney.

The star of ‘Finding Steve-O’ was none other than school caretaker, Steven McCann.

The film documented the disappearance of the popular staff member, followed by class teacher Ms Greene, and the chaos that ensued.

The bright pupils of Scoil Phadraig Naofa were left with no choice but to find them and see off dragons and a supernatural hole underground – set to a stellar music score.

The idea for the graphic production came after a teacher and artist partnership set up by Laois Educate Together in September.

Artist Kate Heffernan was paired with the school and helped the pupils over 10 weeks to produce the masterpiece shown in the school last week.
